Snowy Range
Whether you live in the mountains or long for the call of adventure, these abstracted landscapes draw you in and bring you back to that mountain trail. Alone or in a grouping, these acrylic on canvas paintings create a subtle wintry color palette. Pops of color capture the eye like the surprises of a trail hike. Painted on all sides and unframed and because like the trail, thereās something to see in every direction. 10ā X 20ā X 1.5ā Wired and ready to enjoy as you bring the feel of the outdoors into your home.
Mysterious Forces
I have long been interested in the creative forces that constantly change our planet. Volcanoes, shifting tectonic plates and the invisible forces that cause rocks to tumble, crumble and land in the most curious of places. Change is inevitable. When I hike the mountains and see the unique rock formations and beautiful vistas, I am awed as inspired. This series is my interpretation of the āMysterious Forcesā that take from the planet in order to give new beginnings to landforms and waterways. Each piece is a colorful and playful conversation about the shifting of forms and how everything on Earth is connected.
Mountainās Majesty
Hiking through the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming never cease to amaze you. The rock formations that seem to be held together by the spirit of a mountain are awe inspiring and amazing as you experience the American West. Climbing the boulders and traversing high elevation trails give you jaw dropping views. These formations have always inspired me and the position of the space and colors of this series is my representation of this beautiful landscape. Bring the warmth of these pieces into your home to add beauty and a captivating focal point to any room.
Historic St. Augustine
Thereās something about traveling to new places that invites an opening of the senses. The sights, smells, flavors and visual impact of a place really seeps into my being. Having the opportunity to visit the historic city of St. Augustine, Florida was delightful for so many reasons. The beautiful seaside, quaint city square filled with shops and galleries and even the tourist attraction of sipping from the Fountain of Youth filled me with welcomed energy. This series of paintings was created from taking in the colors of the sand, sea, soil and sky during my trip there. The thing about St. Augustine is that although it is a city, it has a very small town feel. The boutiques and coffee shops each have a unique vibe and everyone welcomes you in to their space. Thereās a bustle to be sure, but itās also very relaxing to stroll the city and meet the locals.
Arizonaās Petrified Forest as Abstract Landscape
I love the outdoors. Hiking, biking, kayaking and just being among nature is something that has long inspired me to create. These paintings were inspired by Arizonaās Petrified Forest on a recent visit. For me they are the colors, sounds and feeling of being in the park and taking in the beauty. Using many layers of paint, marks, collage and mediums I worked to produce the essence of the canyons in both revealed and mysterious ways. Much like the surprises that lie at every turn of the trail, this work was one layer after another of surprise and wonder. They are not representations of the landscape. They are how I feel in it. They are about how the wind, sky, landforms and sun come together. Framed in solid maple floater frame, wired for easy hanging. Created to bring the colors of nature indoors for those times we canāt be outdoors.
Black and White
The simplicity of black and white can create powerful design and a sense of completeness. Each painting has many layers of paint and mixed media to create depth and interest. Each one draws in the viewer and moves the eye around the piece. Whether alone or in a grouping these pieces add depth to any space.
